Cities in the south of England, such as Southampton, Bournemouth and Cambridge, saw house price growth slow in the past year. Conversely, large northern cities such as Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds recorded stronger levels of house price growth than last year.
House prices in Sheffield grew faster than in any other major UK city in the last year. Properties in the northern town enjoyed the highest rate of growth at 5.63 %, reaching the total property value of £55.7bn and making it 10th on the list of total property values in the UK. Close behind were Glasgow and Manchester, where prices rose fast at a rate of 5.38 % and 4.49% respectively.
