16 November 2015. Changes to the rules on indefinite leave to remain applications
The latest changes to the UK Immigration Rules will come into force on 19 November 2015.
One of the most important changes affects applications for settlement in the UK:
- The applicants are required to introduce evidence of their English language skills by taking an English language test at a test centre approved by government. Otherwise the applicants must provide an English language qualification from the Home Office’s Secure English Language Test list.
- In order to be eligible to apply for settlement, the applicant must earn a minimum of £35,000. There will be some exceptions to this requirement, such as occupations on the shortage occupation list and certain PhD level jobs.
