15.11.2016 The Autumn Statement:
Philip Hammond, the new Chancellor, is to give his first Autumn Statement next week. Experts predict that there could be a reduction, or even abolition of the new 3 % additional SDLT on second homes and buy-to-let properties. The new SDLT rules that entered into force in April 2016 have been sharply criticised, because the surcharge negatively affected high-end property market in London. However, few are confident in predicting decision on SDLT, which significantly increases Treasury’ s revenues.
